Position Summary:

Non-profit organization in Brooklyn is looking for a Receptionist for their office. Candidate should be friendly, proactive and have excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities (including Supervisory):

  • Welcomes visitors to the office, assures their comfort and directs them to the proper staff or service.
  • Maintains client confidentiality in conformance with agency confidentiality policy and State laws and regulations.
  •  Greets visitors to the office in a friendly and professional manner. Seeks to assist visitors and provide information to visitors.
  •  Attends to telephone calls promptly and efficiently and records messages accurately, forwards calls and /or records and forwards messages accurately
  • Maintains security by monitoring security cameras and following procedures
  • Maintains a safe and clean reception area
  • Notifies and coordinates with the appropriate individuals when visitors, vendors, or clients arrive on-site
  •  Assists with related clerical duties such as photocopying, collating, and filing.

(Client Division) Position Summary:

The Entitlements Specialist is responsible to identify the needs of their clients and connect them to appropriate resources, benefits and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ needs, including gathering information about their household, living situation, medical needs, current and past financial information and current and past benefits.
  • Assist clients in making well informed decisions, gathering documentation, completing forms, contacting gov’ agencies as needed
  • Provide referrals to state and other local agencies for entitlements as needed
  • Comprehensive knowledge in assisting clients with securing and/or recertification of the following benefits: Medicare, SNAP, Social security, SCRIE/DRIE, Unemployment Benefits, Medicaid /Homecare/MLTC enrollment, HEAP.
  • Monitor changes in government benefits to enhance the well-being of clients
  • Assist in community outreach and create educational workshops to enhance community education regarding the various government benefits
  • Attend individual supervision and staff meetings
  • Maintain organized and up to date records of all services offered by the entitlement’s division

Skill and Education Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in providing direct entitlement services in screening for and determination of individual’s eligibility for full range government benefits
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team and collaborate with other divisions within the organization to help clients across divisions obtain and maintain their benefits/entitlements
  • Excellent organizational and written/oral communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Google apps
  • Ability to learn and utilize existing data tracking systems

Special Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish population
  • Salaried Position – commensurate with experience

(Mental Health Counseling Center) Position Summary:

The Receptionist serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; supports basic administrative functions; and provides support to the Mental Health Clinic with scheduling, appointments, payment collections, running reports and collaborating with therapists.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Welcomes visitors to the office, assures their comfort and directs them to the proper staff or service. Answers telephones; screens calls, forwards calls and/or records and forwards messages accurately; may transcribe messages from telephone answering machine.

  • Maintains security by monitoring security cameras and following procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and clean reception area.
  • Assists with related clerical duties such as photocopying, collating, and filing.
  • Prepares correspondence, memos, letters, and other documents, as requested.
  • Uses computer, fax, or courier service to transmit information or documents when requested.
  • Runs reports and collaborates by email with therapists.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes mail within the office; accepts and routes packages that are received; prepares outgoing mail for delivery.
  • Sign clinic clients in on the electronic health record and ensure that clients complete the sign in sheet.
  • Verify and collect copay/self-pay from clinic clients based on records from the electronic health record.
  • Update the AWARDS system for clinic clients that are a no show or cancellation.
  • Schedule clinic appointments as necessary.
  • Maintains client confidentiality in conformance with agency confidentiality policy and State laws and regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries in the office environment.
  • Run reports, report to Rhonda Chabbott, and collaborate with therapists.

Position Summary:
The Managing Director of the Counseling Center is responsible for all of our Article 31 Counseling Center’s operations. As the Managing Director of the Counseling Center, you will lead a high-performance team that is mission-focused, collaborative and constantly striving to improve its services, as well as serve as an advocate for the operational needs, requests, and the goals of the Counseling Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation to ensure that the expectations of stakeholders (clients, community, funders, and staff­) are met.
  • Manage the cohesion of services to ensure proper admission, scheduling and access of services.
  • Coordinate compliance in all areas of policy, record keeping and procedure.
  • Monitor program adherence to agency, funding source and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce all regulatory standards as they relate to the NYS Office of Mental Health.
  • Develop and manage the Counseling Center’s annual operational budget, ensuring contractual compliance, and giving special attention to access to services/verification of eligibility and billing performance.
  • Oversee Counseling Center billing in conjunction with CFO & Assistant Director
  • Implement outcome measuring for the benefit of clients, as well as clinical staff­ to ensure optimal management of Counseling Center.
  • Address staffing issues including hiring, staff­ development and staffing concerns.
  • Provide ongoing evaluations of service delivery.
  • Monitor census through the implementations of e­ffective linkages and organizational relationships; familiarity with PAR submission to OMH for increase of census.

Skill and Education Required:

  • Masters’ Degree
  • Demonstrated past history of executive managerial ability.
  • Knowledge of NYS OMH regulations for Article 31 Clinics.
  • Excellent organizational and written/oral communications skills.
  • A creative problem-solving approach to program management while ensuring that the necessary planning is undertaken for smooth programmatic operations and expansion.
  • Ability to liaison with all levels of internal/external mental health professionals and active lay leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with older adults and their caregivers providing guidance and support
  • Provide intakes to individuals reaching out with compassion and understanding
  • Provide referrals and link to services within SBH and in the larger community
  • Research/update local resource lists that could provide helpful to clients
  • Ability to track all services and enter case notes in a timely manner (within 3 days)
  • Will assist in day-to-day operations of the older adult center, as needed

Special Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in mental health preferred
  • Proficiency is Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Sheets

Counseling Center Therapist

(Counseling Center) Our counseling center is looking for a full or part time psychotherapist for individual collateral and family sessions.

  • Must have a license or limited permit in the state of NY (MSW, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, MHC, LMFT, MFT, LCAT)
  • Organizational, communication, documentation, assessment and writing skills needed for electronic record keeping
  • Must adhere strictly to issues of confidentiality
  • Maintain an active caseload of clients to provide weekly individual, family and collateral sessions
  • Some experience in evidence based model is a plus (excellent training and supervision provided)
  • Two evenings or one Sunday and one evening is required

Counseling Center Supervisor/Therapist

(Counseling Center) Our counseling center is looking for a part service social work supervisor to work within the mental health clinic.

  • Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  •  A current LCSW license as an LCSW in the State of New York
  • Strong clinical group, family and individual intervention skills required.
  • Good organizational, team work and communicate skills needed.
  • Ability to communicate internally and externally to diverse audiences, with knowledge, diplomacy, tact, patience, flexibility, and courtesy.
  • Must adhere strictly to issues of confidentiality.
  • Shows proficiency in use of electronic health record and keeps a thorough log of all contacts
  • Provide individual supervision to social work staff, supervise crisis management and provide clinical and administrative coverage of clinic,
  • Ensure compliance with Office of Mental Health (OMH) standards.
